Long ago, there lived a grand creature called the Yaali. He had the body of a cat, head of a lion, tusks of an elephant ad tail of a serpent. He looked strange but handsome. He was a temple guard. Even today, you can see sculptures and paintings of Yaalis in temples.
The Yaali in our story was big and powerful but he was rude and rough. One day, he saw a little girl called Yamini. He wanted her as a toy, and carried her away to his cave.
Yamini was a brave and good girl. She was a little scared at first, but soon she saw that the Yalli had no one in the world to teach him good things.
Yamini remained cool. She was nice to the Yaali even when he was rude to her. He liked her calm ways, so different from his ugly bellowing! She kept the cave clean and neat. Slowly he began to like Yamini's good habits and loving ways.
One day, he thought to himself, "How ugly and crude I am compared to her! Can I not become like her if I try?" He began changing.
Yamini also made a little altar for God. Seeing it, the Yaali felt bad. He had forgotten his duty of guarding the temple entrance. He told her how bad he felt. She said, "I have also been away from home for so long. Let us go back - you to your temple and me home, We can always be friends." The Yaali hugged the little girl. He said, " From today, I will be the best temple guard."
They went back happily. Now, the Yaali was totally changed - strong yet gently, kingly yet kind. Yamini's fine habits and values had the power to change a monster into a good and gently giant.

Once habits are formed, they are very difficult to break. If you form a bad habit, it will be difficult to shake off. So it is with a good habit! If you can develop and maintain good habits, you will be very happy later.
